Garnier Fair Miracle 2-in-1 Fairness Cream Review

Heyaaa beauties,

Hope you all are doing great. I guess I’ve finally got the rhythm of being regular on the blog posts. Finally seems to be getting the flow of it. Today I’m going to review a product from a brand I used to love when I got to know ABC of skin and hair care. Garnier is a brand with which I has been in a love-hate relationship. I used to love Garnier Fructis Shampoo/conditioners a lot; I have tried almost all variants of it.

But today the product I’m going to review is “Garnier Fair Miracle 2-in-1 Fairness Cream Review”. I bought this cream because it was a new launch and had pretty packing (who doesn’t like pretty packing! Right) 😛

Product

I don’t expect any product to make you fair, because that never happens. If products could bring fairness then everybody would have been fair by now. Though some homemade DIY’s can bring out the natural glow/fairness in you. For me skin tone doesn’t matter, I think that a healthy and naturally glowing skin is the best (I can die to have skin like that in any skin tone).

Now read on to see how the product fared for me.

Product Description:

Garnier’s 1st fairness cream which keeps your skin fair & clean up to 12 hours. Touch, Feel and See the difference.

  • Touch: Velvety soft and smooth skin on touch
  • Feel: Skin feels fresh, moisturised and clean
  • See: See instantly fair & glowing skin

Proven Efficiency:The formula contains:

  • Vitamin B3 & Perlite (Natural mineral).
  • UV filters known to protect from skin darkening
  • Talcum powder well known for absorption properties.

Product

My Experience withGarnier Fair Miracle 2-in-1 Fairness Cream:

Packaging:

It comes in white and pink pretty tube packing with white screw cap and pink and black font. Tube has a small hole enough to release appropriate product. Tube is travel friendly.

Color & Texture:

Color of the cream is white and sort of reminds me of fair&lovely cream. Texture is mousse like and feels very light on skin and gets spread easily on skin.

Texture and Quantity

Smell:

It has a nice flowery/powdery fragrance a bit hint of saffron notes. Smell disappears 1-2 min post  application.

Product Experience:

Fairness creams don’t attract me but in this cream mention of containing “Talc” fascinated me. As my skin is combination type and tends to get oily at few places. So I thought this cream will help in controlling oil on skin. 🙂 As per instructions it is not clear how to use it and also there is no mention of SPF(only UV filters are not enough for me) so I wear sun block underneath (or mix it with sun block/pond’s BB cream if in hurry and don’t have time to wait for two products to sink in) before heading out 😛

Coming to performance as soon I apply this I see my skin having an instant glowing effect which more of dewy healthy glow and a little whitish glow which doesn’t look like cast and not visible, so that is there fairness claim which is true to some extent. The claim of staying till 12 hr is not true it stays put on skin for good 7-8 hours post which the instant white glow part is gone but glow stays put.

Swatches

It controls the oil to large extent and oily skinned girls going to love it. But if you like matte finish and don’t like dewy look you might not like this. It does not provide any coverage so blemished skin girls will have to use BB cream/concealer underneath.

So as a final verdict I’m not disappointed by garnier this time 🙂

Pros:

  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Very affordable.
  • Gives an even toned dewy finish to skin.
  • Provides healthy glow and instant fairness effect.
  • Stays for 7-8 hrs and controls oil very effectively.
  • Feel very light on skin.
  • Smells nice. Won’t bother sensitive nose.
  • Easily available.
  • Gives refreshing look to skin, skin looks awakened.
  • Provides sufficient moisture to skin.
  • contains salicylic acid.
  • Didn’t break me out.

Cons:

  • 12 hr claims are not true.
  • Leaves a whitish glow which may look like cast on dusky beauties.
  • Provides temporary fairness(I don’t expect products to provide fairness so not a con for me)
  • No Mention of SPF(UV filters only are not enough).
  • Might be a bit drying for over-dry skinned beauties.
  • scary long list of ingredients out of which most are alcohols.

Price:

49/- INR for 20gm.

Rating:

4/5(-ve for no mention of SPF and untrue 12 hr claim)

Will I Repurchase?

May be. It serves purpose of good day cream and fast makeup mixed with BB cream. 🙂

Do I recommend?

Yes definitely. But dusky beauties should skip it.
