Hello beauties! Today we’re talking about one of ColourPop’s most popular neutral palettes — Going Coconuts. If you love wearable taupes, browns, champagnes, and easy everyday eyeshadow looks, chances are this palette has crossed your radar.
And while I completely understand why it became so popular, I do have one honest preference: I would have loved more metallic shades in this palette.
So if you’re considering it, here’s my full honest review.

About ColourPop Going Coconuts
The ColourPop Going Coconuts Eyeshadow Palette is a 9-pan neutral palette featuring a mix of mattes, metallics, and sparkle finishes. ColourPop describes it as a toasted neutral palette made for everyday looks, with their ultra-pigmented pressed powder formula. (ColourPop)
The tones lean neutral to slightly warm, without becoming too orange or overly cool-toned.

My Experience with Going Coconuts
Texture & Formula
ColourPop usually does mattes very well, and that’s true here too. The matte shades are soft, pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with. They create polished everyday looks without much effort. The metallics perform nicely overall, especially shades like Coco Crush but if you like extra sparkly shimmers. this is not for you.

But Here’s My Honest Preference: I Wanted More Metallics
This is where personal taste comes in. I enjoy neutral mattes, but I also love when a palette gives me more shimmer and metallic lid options. Going Coconuts leans quite matte-heavy, with only a few true metallic shades.
Because of that, I sometimes find myself reaching for a single shadow topper or another palette to add more sparkle. If ColourPop had included one or two extra metallic taupes or champagne shades, this palette would feel even more complete to me.
Longevity
With primer, expect 7–8 hours wear.
Packaging
Simple plastic compact with mirror. Lightweight and practical. Not luxurious, but very functional.

Final Verdict: 4.4/5 ⭐
ColourPop Going Coconuts is a genuinely good neutral palette and deserves its popularity. The mattes are reliable, the tones are flattering, and it’s incredibly practical.
My only real complaint is that I personally would have preferred more metallic shades, because that would make the palette feel more balanced and versatile.
Still, if you love soft everyday neutrals and don’t need tons of sparkle, this is an easy recommendation.
Would I Recommend It Today?
Yes — especially for neutral makeup lovers. But if you’re like me and always reach for shimmer… you may want a topper nearby 😌✨
