Maybelline is one of my personal favorite drugstore brand. Most of the products by Maybelline work well for me. I am not really a foundation girl so I do not buy many foundations. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation has been raved about for normal to oily skin. So decided to pick it up for summer days. Lets read on to know my thoughts about Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation.

My Experience with Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation:
My skin is combination sensitive which tends to get dry with dry patches in winters and oily patches in summer. I have mostly neutral tones which shifts to slightly cool in winters and slightly warm in summers. So lets see how Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation performed on me.
Packaging:
Packaging of Maybelline New York Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation differ in different countries. In some countries i have seen it in glass bottle packaging. In Europe it comes in transparent tube with screw open matte black cap. I do prefer tube packaging as it is travel friendly and light-weight. However the product gets accumulated around opening and needs to be cleaned regularly.
Texture, Consistency & Finish:
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation is very smooth in texture and is of lotion like consistency. It spreads easily and immediately feels velvety smooth on skin and sets to matte finish.
Shade:
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation range has 40 shades to choose from. However i have seen limited shades in netherlands. I have shade 120 Classic Ivory which is bit too cool-toned for my skin.
I use MAC studio fix fluid foundation in NC20 (a bit yellow for me sometimes). And when i searched online, shade 120 was suggested by many for NC20. But in reality both are totally opposite. Here is how MAC studio fix NC20 and Maybelline fit me 120 classic ivory look side by side. You can see that MAC one is warm yellow toned whereas Maybelline fit me 120 is cool pink toned.
Performance:
I have shade 120 from Maybelline Fit Me Matte range which seemed like a good match in yellow store lights but in reality it is too cool for me. It spreads like a velvety dream on skin and gives skin instant smoother and matte finish. It does not feel heavy on skin even on layering. Coverage for this is medium to buildable. I have noticed it does not emphasize any dry patches and it makes skin look smoother.
It does oxidize a bit after setting. Since the shade 120 is wrong match for me so upon setting it makes my skin look dull and lifeless due to the wrong shade. So I usually mix it with a yellow toned foundation and use it.
This is water-proof and sweat-proof, you can not wash it off with just water, you need to use oil based makeup remover to remove it completely. It stays matte on my skin for good 7-8 hours and then I can see my oily patches get dewy. I would say this is perfect for normal to oily skin. This does not settle to fine lines which is another plus.

Final Verdict: 4.9/5
Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation is perfect drugstore bet for normal to oily skin. It is not suitable for dry skin and neither does it claims so. The finish is very lightweight almost like skin, velvety and smooth. It sets to a matte finish and stays matte for good 5-9 hours depending upon how oily your skin is. The shade range is very vast in a lot of countries. It is water-proof and sweat-proof. However the poreless claim is not completely true. I do wish to buy my correct match, so yes i’ll repurchase it and totally recommend it.

I have the similar skin type but somehow matte finish products never work for me even in summers I have never tried Maybelline foundations, but will ask my sister to check this out. She has an oily skin

I have the Loreal one and it’s too matte. Plus am unable to check get my shade. I would like to try this as I have oily skin
