So this birthday I have decided to gift myself 2 lipsticks from MAC’s summer edition collection was launched as “Bronzing collection”. I do not own any amplified or lustre finish lipsticks from MAC so I decided to pick one amplified and one lustre finish lipstick from the range. Let’s see review & Swatches of MAC Bronzing Collection Lipsticks. I did get a good 25% off on these.

My Experience with MAC Bronzing Collection Lipsticks:

MAC Bronze Collection has total 5 shades in the range, out of which 1 is Amplified finish, 3 lustre and 1 is dazzle finish lipsticks. I picked up 2 : Cote D’Amour(Amplified) and Set to Sizzle(Lustre). Let see review & Swatches of the 2.

Packaging:

The packaging is one of the most beautiful limited edition packaging. MAC describes it as metallic bronze packaging that’s drenched in an exclusive water droplet design. It is absolutely gorgeous and like MAC packaging, the ingredient list, shade name, finish etc is also mentioned on outer packaging.

3 Finishes in the range:

• Amplified: ultra-creamy, semi-lustrous finish
• Dazzle: creamy, sparkly finish
• Lustre: sheer, lustrous finish

1. COTE D’AMOUR – BRIGHT FUSCHIA (Amplified)
2. SET TO SIZZLE – GRAPEFRUIT PINK (Lustre)
3. WHAM – PLUM BROWN WITH PINK PEARL (Dazzle)
4. A LA PLAGE – LIGHT NUDE WITH SLIGHT GOLD PEARL (Lustre)

Shades & Pigmentation:

I have 2 shades : Cote D’Amour (Amplified) & Set to Sizzle (Lustre). Cote D’Amour is very pigmented an opaque in single swipe whereas Set to Sizzle is semi-sheer and moderately pigmented, you need 2-3 swipes for opaque finish.

MAC Cote D’Amour (Amplified) Review:

MAC Cote D’Amour is a bright raspberry fuschia pink which has slight warm pull with pearly reflect, which makes it look neutral raspberry pink. This is an amplified finish lipstick, which means it is ultra creamy, quite shiny and very pigmented. It is very pigmented and gives opaque finish in one layer. It is easy to blot and layer, it never settles matte but you can blot it to tone down the creaminess. This stays put for 4-5 hours with some nip and sips in between. It doe not survive full meal and needs to be reapplied but it stains lips a bit so the fade looks even. This does not feel heavy or bleed at all even upon layering and feels moisturizing throughout the wear time. The shade will look flattering on all skintones.

MAC Set to Sizzle (Lustre) Review:

MAC Set to Sizzle is medium warm toned coral shade with very fine golden pearlites in it which are visible in bullet but are not evident on lips but adds a wet look to lipstick. The finish is lustre which means it is not as pigmented as amplified finish. Like lustre finish it is glossy finish, semi-sheer and gives healthy look to lips. This can also be blotted and layered without feeling heavy on lips. Despite being creamy this does not bleed at all. It stays for about 3-4 hours with some sips and nips between and needs to be reapplied after a full meal. This does not stain the lips and feel moisturizing. This shade do settle into finelines of lips which is not visible from far but noticeable from close.

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

MAC bronzing Collection lipsticks look so pretty and I loved the theme of summer bronzy glow. However instead of 3 lustre lipsticks I would have liked to see ateast one matte shade as well. These are my first amplified and luster finish lipsticks which I quite enjoyed. I liked amplified finish more than luster one since i do prefer pigmented lipsticks.
