Kiehl’s is a very famous skincare brand and most of the products from the brand comes with a hefty price tag. I have thought of trying out the brancd and bought Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser in sale. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser claims to be a mild cleanser suitable for all skin types. But is it mild enough? Is it really for all skintypes? Is it worth the price tag? read on to know.

My Experience with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser:
I do invest wisely in skincare products since I have super sensitive skin. I do my shopping in sales. the Body Shop products suits me pretty well but I wanted to take a break from The Body Shop and wanted to explore some other brands. And that is why when i spotted this Kiehl’s ultra facial cleanser on sale (I bought it for € 7) , I decided to try the smaller version. Let’s dive into details.
Packaging:
This cleanser comes in a white tube with flip open cap. The details about product and ingredients are mentioned in black on packaging itself. I did not face any issue with the packaging.
Texture & Consistency:
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser is milky pearly white gel which lathers moderately and washes off easily. Consistency is not too runny.
Performance:
I have combination skin with oily t-zone and I tend to get red and dry patches around my mouth in winters. I have started using Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser in January which is kinda peak winter time here with dry cold winds.
Since I read a few reviews before and it is suggested for dry sensitive skin many times, i bought it and started using twice a day. BIG MISTAKE!!! it made my skin dry within 2-3 days and my skin was feeling stretchy and dry and sensitive. I could see redness around my mouth getting prominent and dry patches coming back into picture. Usually even if SLS is in starting of the ingredients list, sometimes the concentration is not that high and product works for my skin without irritating it but that is not the case with this one, SLS seems quite high in concentration. So I switched to using it only at night. That did decrease the dryness and sensitivity a bit but i would still need to slather my TBS vit-E toner and super heavy moisturizer afterwords.
Positive were that It was successful in removing mild makeup and non-water-proof mascara as well. It did not sting my eyes. And my oily zones were not oily for longer time.
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
There is just so many things not right about Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. This contains SLS, parabens and lots of acne irritating ingredients. It is not at all suitable for all skin types. And if you have dry/super dry/ sensitive skin, my suggestion is to stay away from this. However it removes mild makeup successfully and washes off skin completely giving clean feeling, so oily, combination skin ladies will love it specially in hot/moderate weather.
Sadly for me this is a big no and not a repurchase. However I’m interested in trying out their cucumber cleanser. I have read Makeup and Smiles’ review longback and she warned about it for sensitive skin.
