My Experience with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder:

My Skin: Normal to Combination with Oily tea zone and cheeks and Slight dry patches in winters. Light to Medium skintone with cool to neutral undertones.

Here is what I feel about Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder comes in a beige plastic pan with transparet lid on it. Product name is printed on lid and shade name at the back of the pan. No sponge applicator or brush is provided. The packaging feel very cheap plastic kind and I dropped it once and broke the lid. So very clumsy and non-sturdy packaging and lid opened once in my bag, so you can not carry it in your handbag.

Texture, Shade & Pigmentation:

Texture of Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is non-chalky finely milled. It feel smooth but non super-smooth. It has a very faint chalk like smell.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder has 7 shades available in India. I ordered online shade 006 warm beige which has which has slight yellow undertones. It is tad bit dark on my facial skin but I can get away with it when I’m tanned. It goes on skin smoothly and provides sheer coverage. Also in India not all shades are available.

Staying Powder:

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder immediately gives matte look to skin. It does minimize look of the pores and does not cling to or highlight dry patches. I apply it using powder brush or sponge and I do not see any kickback on pan. With powder brush not much product gets picked up and the coverage is very natural and on my combination skin on a hot day, it keeps oil at bay for good 3-4 hours after which i need to retouch. When I use sponge for application, coverage is better and I feel the matte effect lasts for 4-5 hours after which touch up is needed. And then I really hate the absence of sponge in packaging and also the cheap packaging as i can not carry it in my bag.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is decent compact for dry/combination and normal skin type. It is even good for oily skintype in winters but otherwise for oily skin it will not serve the purpose of keeping oil at bay for long. And I wish the packaging was a bit better. I would say it is pretty decent compact at decent price tag in India and I would love to repurchase every now and then. But In europe it is priced at 10 EUR which is overly priced for the quality and I would not buy it here for sure.
