Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo & Conditioner

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo & Conditioner Review

It has been a while since I did shampoo conditioner review here. Reason being I had very bad phase for my hair so I stopped too much experimentation for a while. So after TIGI bedhead Resurrection got over (which took almost a year), i decided to give Pureology a try. And instead of picking up their popular and hyped “Hydrate” range, I decided to pick up “Strength Cure” range becuase the product description fit my needs at that time. So read on to know if Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo & Conditioner lived up to the claims and my expectations.

My Experience with Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo & Conditioner:

My Hair & Scalp: Normal hair & Normal sensitive scalp.

I always prefer to use shampoo and conditioner from same range to get the best benefit of the range. Although I do notice that when you buy same size of shampoo and conditioner, Conditioner always finishes before shampoo. or is it just me? anyhow lets go into details of this duo. Both shampoo and conditioner come in turquoise blue bottle and purple cap. The packaging is spill proof but you do get product accumulated in cap a lot of time. also the conditioner cap broke when i dropped the bottle accidentally.

Shampoo looks pretty peachy pink and smells delicious. The smell is not overpowering and does not linger long. The shampoo lathers pretty well so I need less product than most of the drugstore shampoos. Which makes me happy as it makes it worth the price. This 266ml bottle lasted me almost 6 months. Shampoo is clarifying and is supposed to remove product buildup which it does perfectly. It reduced my hair breakage and my hair felt less frizzy. But I found the shampoo to be a little too strong for my sensitive scalp. Specially in winters it gave me dry flakes and aggravated the dandruff. Although in warmer months I did not face this issue. So I would not recommend it for dry and sensitive scalp. But it can be really good for oily scalp and warmer months.

Conditioner is also beautiful peachy pink. It has whipped cream like texture. the whipped texture makes it easy to spread but that means I also need more product than most of other conditioners. The conditioner gives hair a boost and hair feel stronger and well cared for. My hair felt smoother to touch and my dry rough hair ends felt so much better. But my conditioner finished when half of my shampoo was still left which is a bit irritating for me.

Final Verdict:

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo Conditioner duo was good while it lasted. I have mixed feelings about this duo and that is why it is not a repurchase for me. Let’s go over the facts. while Shampoo was good at cleaning product build up, it was a bit too strong for sensitive dry scalp specially in dry winter months. It aggravated my dandruff. Conditioner was good performance wise, it finished way before shampoo. Also I did need a lot of product to get the smooth finish and detangled hair.
