There was a time when NYX used to be raved about in beauty world specially for lip products. It’s butter gloss, soft matte lip cream, lip lingerie everything was raved about. I loved soft matte lip cream(SMLC) a lot and also lip lingerie range. I have never tried butter glosses because it never interested me much. But when i saw NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle in market about more than 6 years ago, I was intrigued and bought one about 5 years ago. I have used this on and off and I’ll tell you why in this review. I’m not sure if these are discontinued or not because I can see them listed at a few places. So not sharing the links.

My Experience with NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Souffle:
I have the shade Berry Tea. This is 2-in-1 lip & cheek product and marketed as whipped souffle. Let’s dive into details.
Packaging:
Color coded plastic tube packaging with doe-foot applicator. Product details are mentioned on the packaging and the tube also look kinda cute. The doe foot applicator is not very best but workable.
Texture, Finish & Pigmentation:
I was expecting the texture of NYX Lip & Cheek Souffle to be something like SMLC range but it is rather more on creamy side. The texture is not at all whipped mousse like. So I was kind of disappointed. It never sets into matte finish on lips and stays more like creamy lipstick. And when blotted these give finish like a lip tint. The pigmentation is medium when used as lip product and highly pigmented when used as a cheek tint. So be cautious and build up while using as a blush.
Performance:
Since I prefer matte lipsticks and creamy matte lipsticks so this NYX Lip & Cheek Souffle have not been my favorite as a lip product. I rarely use it as lip product. I use it mostly as blush and hence it is still not finished. However I do plan to use it up this year. As a blush a little bit goes a long way. this can be applied with brush as well as finger and works well both ways. I use stippling brush to blend this and it sheers it out beautifully. The staying power is also good. on my combination skin it stays well for 5 hours and then starts to fad evenly.
NYX Lip & Cheek Souffle Berry Tea Swatch:
Final Verdict:
As a lip product:3.5/5
As a Cheek Product: 4.5/5
NYX Lip & Cheek Souffle is an average product and not really worth the price for me. If you are someone who love SMLC range and getting this thinking it will be similar, then skip it. Also if you like matte/creamy matte lipstick then it is not for you. However if you want to use it as a cream blush and kind of a gloss but less liquidy then you can give this a try.
