I love palettes with neutrals and pop of color. I also prefer balance of mattes and metallics in a palette. Today I’m reviewing Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Hot Smoked, it is one of my most used palettes. I have this palette for about 5 years.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Hot Smoked:

There are 5 matte shades and 7 metallic shades in this palette. Let’s dive into details.

Packaging:

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Hot Smoked is plastic with transparent lid. The packaging is sturdy enough but does feel quite cheap. However it survived travelling and through all the falls etc.

Dual ended sponge applicator which comes inside the palette is good quality to be honest and I find it good to apply shadows on lower lash line. It has not lost it’s shape in 5 years.

Texture & Pigmentation:

Matte shades from Makeup Revolution Hot Smoked Palette are a bit chalky specially the lighter shades such as off-white, beige and lavender one. The darker matte shades are ok. There is a little kick off in the pan but nothing major.

Metallics are very creamy and cushiony. There is a hard layer on few shades, but once that is scraped or pressed with fingers, the shades come off quite creamy.

Mattes and metallics both are very pigmented. Mattes blend with each other nicely and do not look muddy. I apply metallics with dry brush as well as with my fingers and they perform really well in both cases. I do prefer fingers though for intense pop.

Performance:

I usually wear these shadows to office without any primer underneath and in winters these do survive 9 to 5 without any issue. In hot weather I do feel some of the shadows crease after about 5-6 hours but that happens with me for almost all eyeshadows. Overall i love this.

I think Makeup Revolution Hot Smoked Palette is good palette with excellent shadow quality. Lighter matte shades are chalky but darker mattes perform well. The mattes as well as metallics are pretty pigmented and blend easily with each other. There are n number of eyemakeup looks you can create with this palette. If you are someone who is starting with colourful shadows, this is a good option. The shades are not very bright yet they do add pop of colour and enhance the look. This eyeshadow palette is more of cool-toned palette.
