MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 also known as MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is a well known and raved about product in beauty realm. If you follow even bare minimum beauty trends then you might have heard of this product for sure. Back in the day MAC was the one of very few brands which had an extensive shade range to choose from. So chances are that you will get your shade matched pretty well at MAC (if their SA’s know what they are talking about). I have always had very bad experience with MAC SA’s for shade match. First time I was matched NC35 which looks straight up orange on me :(. Second time I turned out to be NC20 which is still not a perfect match but very close. Although it looks a bit too yellow on me sometimes because of my undertones. I have neutral undertones which swing to neutral warm in summers and neutral cool in winters :/ So you know shade matching is not that simple for me. Anyhow let’s dive into the review.

My Experience with MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF15:
I have super sensitive combination skin which tends to get dry patches(around mouth and eyes) in winters and oily patches(T-zone and cheeks) in summers. I have been matched NC20 which seems closest match yet but I still feel it is not perfect match for my skin however I do plan to try NW18 as well ins tore to see if I get successful in finding my perfect shade macth.
Packaging, Texture & Consistency:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid comes in a black carton box which has color coded top and even the font is colorcoded. The actual foundation comes in a sturdy glass bottle with matte black screw open cap on it. The foundation does not come with a pump and you have to buy the pump separatly so this is something to keep in mind. I have bought the pump separately and after you fix pump, the autual lid is of no use anymore. Although the pump comes with a cap and has lock mechanism,
MAC Studio Fix Fluid has perfect consistency which is not too thick and not too runny. It spreads easily and glides onto skin.
Performance:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid glides onto skin and gets applied effortlessly with any tool be it sponge, brush or even fingers. I have applied it all ways and loved it every time. You need very little quantity every time. The foundation gives evened out smoothed effect to skin and does not sling to dry patches and does not emphasize texture. The coverage is medium and can be build up or toned down. I have used it in all seasons and never faced any issue with it. I always prep my skin beforeheand with moisturizer suitable for my skin and the weather conditions.
MAC Studio Fix Fluid in itself has matte finish which lasts for about 5 hours before natural oils from skin start to make appearance and start to turn the look slightly dewy. But I have danced my heart out while wearing this foundation and this still did not budge(did I mention that I sweat like crazy). And guess what despite having SPF in it there in is no flashback in pictures. This won my heart at that point.

Final Verdict: 4.9/5
Technically MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF15 is 5/5 for me but just to be unbiased I deducted point for not including the pump. This is very versatile foundation. You can tone down the coverage to light, medium or build it up to full coverage. Same goes with finish. If you want to ditch standard matte finish this gives, just add a drop of strobe cream and you are good to go. However I do recommend you to prep your skin properly before any foundation application. I love how it makes the skin look smooth and evened out without empahsinzing texture and not going cakey. This does not settle into my lines. And There are numerous shades to choose from. Overall I am in lvoe with it.
I do wish to try their online shade finder tool to match my shade once again. But I can get away with MAC Studio Fix Fluid NC20 and MAC powder plus foundation NC25 combination when I want full coverage. This did not irritate my sensitive skin. I will repurchase it for sure and totally recommend it.
