My experience with Clinique Moisture Surge Intense 72-Hr Lipid Replenishing Hydrator:

My Skin type: Combination. Tends to get dry patches in winter & oily patches in summer.

Since I moved to Netherlands my skin is getting drier during the winters specially if i go out everyday. Age can also be a factor here. But heavy creams make my skin feel clogged and sweaty resulting in smaller bumps. So I always look for hydrating products which are not too heavy on skin. Let’s see if Clinique Moisture Surge Intense fulfills that expectation.

Packaging:

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense comes in a pretty powder pink glass tub with silver screw open lid. The packaging is fuss-free and i kind of like tub packaging because it gives me ease of using my product to the end. However the packaging is slippery sometimes specially if you have oil/serum in your hands. I dropped it a couple of times but thankfully it is super sturdy and does not break upon dropping.

Texture:

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense has crème to gel like texture which is quite light-weight.

Performance:

I find regular moisture surge is not moisturizing enough for my skin during fall/winter months and that is why i decided to give Clinique Moisture Surge Intense a try. I introduced it from fall and continued to use it through the winters and even spring. Despite the name suggests, it is not at all heavy feeling. It gets absorbed into skin quickly without leaving any greasiness or residue behind. My skin felt moisturized and hydrated from the very first use. I felt like 72hr claim is a little bit too ambitious but I did notice that my skin felt less dry and stretchy than usual after washing my face. My dry patches were not in sight and my skin felt little less irritated than usual.

It gave me enough moisture and hydration during the day in winters even when used without any serums. In night i always used my serum before it for extra boost. But i like that it is lightweight enough to be layered with sunscreen and makeup on top. My skin felt comfortable with makeup on and felt neither greasy nor dry. In spring and summer if you use a little less quantity, you’ll be fine. After my trip to coastal region, my skin felt dry and burnt and extra sensitive, I came back to this and used it as overnight sleeping mask and i noticed huge difference in my skin within a couple of days.

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense

Final Verdict: 5/5

Clinique moisture surge intense is perfect for you if you find clinique moisture surge regular is not moisturizing enough for you. it packs full punch of hydration thanks to the hyaluronic acid in it, it also calms and soothes skin for which we can thank cica as ingredient. Overall this is a well balanced perfectly formulated moisturizer for combination to dry and dry to very dry skin. It fulfills the claims and i do feel the hydration lasts even after washing my face. I can use it all year long if that is the only moisturizer I’m left with. It works prefect in combination with other serums and makeup as well.

I love it and totally recommend it. it is targeted for dry and very dry skin so keep that in mind.

Recommended for: combination to dry, dry to very dry sin all year around. For combination/Normal skin in winter months.

Not recommend for : I’ll not recommend it for oily skin at all.
