My combination skin gets moody in chilly weather. It gets dry patches but if I use overly moiturizing creams then it becomes oily…huhh!. So I have added Olay Moisturizing Lotion in my cart during sale time hoping that it would solve my winter skin blues and then I had to travel to HongKong. I have been using Dermalogic Clear Start Today kit for daytime, but I have not carried any night cream with me so decided to use Olay Moisturizing Lotion as night cream. So has Olay Moisturizing Lotion been able to tame my skin’s moodswings??? read on to know….

My Experience with Olay Moisturizing lotion:
Sometimes it is better to skip the random packaging and stuff talk and go straight to the review…
I have started using olay moisturizing lotion as night cream when i moved here in HK. The weather was chilly so as usual my skin had dry patches here and there and splashing hot water occasionally made it worse :(. When I started using this, I felt my skin was plump and soft on morning after very first use but the effect was gone after I washed my face and dry patches were back as day proceeded. I have kept using it as night cream over my serum and every morning i woke up with plump skin.
After a week’s usage I noticed my dark patches were gone completely and my skin wasn’t feeling parched as before. My skin was moisturised. I have given this a try during day time as well and it performed well on my combination skin on a chilly day. But it made my skin a bit oily after 4-5 hours when I used it on a hot sunny day.
It did not irritate my sensitive skin. It sinks into skin right away and doesn’t leave any greasy or heavy feeling behind. It is very lightweight. It does not cause any firming effect neither does it claim so.
Final Verdict: 4/5
Olay Moisturizing Lotion is a good moisturizing lotion for combination to oily skinned beauties for winters. In hot and humid weather it might make skin oily after some time. In my opinion it might not be moisturizing enough for very dry skinned people. It can be a good option for dry skinned beauties for summers and humid weather but not in winters. It keeps skin soft and plump and takes care of dry patches. This is regular moisturizing lotion without any SPF. Overall I loved how it worked on my sensitive combination skin in winters and took care of dry patches very well.
I might repurchase it in winters again because this has perfect formula for my skin :).
So this is my experience with Olay Moisturizing lotion. Leave your comments in comment section below. I’m still settling in, so few more days then I’ll be more regular. 🙂
Till next time…take care…xoxo.
It’s good that it didn’t irritate your sensitive skin. Even in summers my skin acts up and I get dry patches. Nice review and hope you enjoy your stay in HK.
Wish it had SPF,it would be perfect than!

A perfect lotion for combination/oily skinned people… and your pics are super crisp. Loved them.
I usually love olay lotions! Great review 🙂 Btw I love the new look of your blog <3
This sounds like a great option for winter! It’s about to start heating up again where I live, so I don’t think this lotion would work with my oily face right now, but I will definitely keep it in mind for next year.
