Simple is a brand I waned to try for a long time but was waiting for my existing skincare stock to get over. Last year when I visited India in October, my skin felt a bit dry due to onsetting winter. My sister-in-law had Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer with her and offered me to use it. I liked how it worked tackling the slight dryness on skin without feeling too heavy. I continued using it for some time and then again this summer. Let’s go through detailed review about Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer.

My Experience with Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer:

Sometimes products seem to work for you in one kind of environmental and geometric settings but might not work for you in different season or geometric location. That is why it is important to test a product in various situations and recognize when a product is working for you or not. Let’s dive into details.

Packaging:

It comes in a white opaque squeezable bottle with screw open and flip-open cap. The bottle is light wight but you can not see how much product is left. Also in the end it is very difficult to get product out of the bottle and lots of product is bound to get wasted despite all effort to get product out (bottle is too thick to cut open with sizzers). That is why I prefer tub or tube packaging for creams.

Texture & Consistency:

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer has cream texture which is moderately thick and not at all runny. It spreads easily and gets absorbed into skin without leaving any layer or shine behind. Love the consistency and absorption.

Performance:

I have combination skin which tends to get combination to oily in summers and combination to dry in winters. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturizer worked perfectly for transitioning weather like fall and spring when there is slight chill and dryness in the air but not too dry or too cold. It gave skin much needed moisturization without feeling too heavy on skin. It did not irritate or react to my sensitive skin. My makeup went beautifully on it and it did not make it oily.

In winters I felt it was not moisturizing enough and my skin felt parched within 2-3 hours and i needed something heavier and more hydrating. It was not enough on it’s own. However oily skinned people will enjoy it in winters as well but not any other skin types.

In summers I felt it was a bit heavy for day time usage and it made my skin oily. when used during day time my skin felt a bit congested and i got tiny oily bumps with these. However in summers it worked well as night cream, but I could not use it as day cream at all.

Final Verdict: 4/5

Simple Kind to skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer is good option for those who are looking for something moderately moisturizing. People with all skintypes can enjoy it in transitioning weather like fall and spring when weather is not too cold, not too hot. Oily skinned people can enjoy it in winters as well but it can be a bit too heavy for them to use it in warm weather. Normal skinned people can enjoy this in almost all weathers. Dry skinned people will enjoy it in warm weather but might find it not very hydrating for colder weather. I love the fact that it is free from harmful ingredients but other than that it is an average moisturizer which does nothing extra. I do not think I will repurchase it. It reminds me of Olay Moisturizing Lotion. It is also not easily available in Netherlands.
