My Experience with The Body Shop Hemp Heavy-Duty Body Moisture Protector:
I have normal skin so in winter I need extra hydration and moisturization . I like body butters in winters. So let’s read on to know how it performed on my skin.
Packaging:
TBS hemp body butter comes in a green tub packaging with matte black cap. It has green hemp print on it. Ingredient list and product related information is mentioned on a sticker at bottom like always.
Texture & Smell:
TBS Hemp body butter is super thick in texture, you really have to dig it out from tub. It gets warmed up in contact with skin and gets spread easily. It does not get absorbed into skin immediately and takes about a minute and After that there is no greasy feeling behind.
The smell is nothing like the handcream from the range. I do not like the smell of this body butter at all. To me it smelled like old oil.
Performance:
Now this is where I want to pick a bone with The body shop. 96 hour claim! really!!!. I mean who goes without shower for 96 hours. That is a very tall claim which they fail to fulfill. It does moisturize skin well for 24 hours and i did not feel the need to reapply it between showers. However after shower I do feel the need to apply it everyday.
I noticed on the days when my skin felt extra parched, it absorbed into skin very quickly. And my skin felt better day after. It des have healing effect of dry flaky skin as I have tested it on my dry heels too.
Final Verdict: 4.75/5
It could have been a 5/5 if it was not for the smell and there boastful 96 hour moisture claim. I loved the feeling of it on my skin but could not enjoy the application because i absolutely hated the scent. I will not repurchase this for sure. But if you are someone who has super dry flaky skin which needs heavy-duty moisturizer, well this is worth a shot. This is heavy-duty so I will not recommend for normal/combination/oily skin for hot humid days. For winters it s a good option.
