The Body shop Secrets of the World or spa of the world range was launched to bring some of the best secrets from the world and incorporate into a skincare line. There are different rituals such as revitalising, firming, hydrating to cator to different skin care needs. Today I’m reviewing The Body Shop Secrets of The World Atlantic Seaweed Revitalising Body Gel Cream (quite mouthful), let’s call it The Body Shop Atlantic Seaweed Body Gel Cream.

My Experience with The Body Shop Atlantic Seaweed Body Gel Cream:

I have used and finished full size version of The Body Shop Ethiopian Green Coffee body Cream and loved it to the core, so when I spotted 50ml travel sizes of other body creams from the secrets of the world range on 50% sale, i decided to pick one each. Let’s talk about Atlantic Seaweed Body Gel Cream.

Packaging:

Packaging of TBS Atlantic Seaweed Body Gel Cream is similar to green coffee cream, brown plastic tub with matte black screw open lid. This revitalising range is marked up with aqua blue lines whereas green coffee firming range was marked up green.

Texture & Scent:

Texture of TBS Atlantic seaweed body gel-cream is not at all gel-like, it is more like air-whipped cream, very fluffy and light-weight. That means it will get over faster than the usual cream. It spreads easily and gets absorbed super quickly on damp skin.

The Body shop says it is lightly scented and it is so. It smells of sea-salt mixed with menthol. Very refreshing aqua notes. not over-powering.

Performance:

The gel creams are supposed to be hydrating yet not greasy and they tend to give taut effect to skin. Usually gel-creams are suitable for oily skin. This cream is no exception. This body cream is super-light and gets absorbed without leaving any residue behind. You feel like there is nothing on your skin. Which makes it perfect for normal-oily skin in summers and humid rainy weather. I even like to use it as hand-cream sometimes due to it’s non-greasy super-light formula. It also contains salisylic acid which is known for mild exfoliating properties which makes it suitable for congested skin.

However this kind of formula is not suitable for people with dry skin. Unlike green coffee cream, it is not moisturizing enough for dry skin people and they will feel the need for reapplication more often. Also The body shop mentions not to use it on face.

Final Verdict: 4/5

The Body Shop Atlantic Seaweed Body Gel Cream is a very light-weight body cream suitable for normal/oily skin people in summer/humid weather. There are many ingredients which I am not fond of such as parfum/fragrance, alcohol denat quite up in ingredients list. There are some good ingredients as well such as salisylic acid as well as some humectants. Overall it is good velvety light-weight creams which serves the purpose for oily/combination/normal skin. Dry skinned people can skip this.

It gets over quickly as compare to green coffee cream because of it’s fluffy texture. I would still recommend green coffee version over this.
