I have combination sensitive skin which tends to get dry patches in winters and oily patches in summer. I like a foaming cleanser which does not strip skin of it’s natural oils yet cleanses skin well. Also it needs to be sensitive skin friendly. I like to experiment with different cleansers and so far I have found only one facewash which works for me all year around. So when I saw La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel ticking all the boxes, I decided to give it a try. Let’s see if it became my cleanser all year around of not.

My Experience with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel For Oily Sensitive Skin:
I had some doubts about this working for me all year around since this is for oily sensitive skin. Still 400ml bottle for 10EUR was not a bad deal, so I decided to commit to 400ml bottle and start using it from last summer. The cleanses is also available in 50ml and 200ml packaging.
400ml La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel For Oily Sensitive Skin comes in a blue translucent plastic bottle with white pump dispenser with lock mechanism. The facewash itself is clear gel which lathers quite nicely.
I have been using this cleanser for a year now sometimes twice a day and sometime once a day and I’ ready to share my thoughts. This is a gem and I absolutely love it. Why? to start with it is a non drying cleanser for my combination skin even in winters. Although during the snowfall days I felt it was a little drying on my skin specially in morning. I also use it as second cleanse when I do double cleanse and let me tell you it takes off all residue and oilyness left from my first cleanse and still does not make my skin feel dry. It makes my skin feel clean and smooth. I follow up with toner, serum and moisturizer like usual. This takes care of teeny tiny breakouts too and I also like that it does not clash with any actives in my skincare routine.
Final Verdict: 5/5
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel For Oily Sensitive Skin is 5/5 for me. I used it for whole year and still a little left in the bottle. And I’m going to keep it stocked because it is a no-nonsense cleanser which takes care of sensitive irritated skin without irritating it. It does not clash with your other skincare products and actives in your routine. So If you have normal, combination or oily sensitive skin do give it a try. However if you have dry to very dry skin, you can skip it. I love it and definitely going to repurchase it.
