Cleansers/facewash can look like a very simple step in skincare but it can be very tricky if you have sensitive skin. Since cleansers can play with Ph balance of your skin, some can either clog or over dry your skin, if your skin is actin weird or irritated your cleanse/facewash can be a culprit too. I have super sensitive skin which is combination with dry patches in winter and combination with oily patches in summers. Some ingredients like SLS, fragrance, silicons, parabens in high quantity can irritate my skin badly. So I do opt for products without these in case my skin is irritated. In the quest I have stumbled upon this raved about cleanser from First Aid Beauty and since i got a great deal as holiday set. Lets read on to know is First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is worth the hype? Is it really THE cleanser for sensitive skin.

My Experience with First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser:

I have purchased First Aid Beauty FAB faves to go Holiday kit which comes with FAB Face Cleanser (56.7g), FAB Facial Radiance Pads (28 pads), and the famous FAB Ultra Repair Cream (56.7g). Buying the kit makes it more economical if you want to try Facial Radiance Pads and moisturizer as well. I’ve reviewed Facial Radiance Pads already. My skin suffered from extreme dry patches, redness and flakyness in winters and got irritated a lot specially around the mouth. So I wanted to switch to a gentle cleanser without any irritating ingredients like sulphates and fragrance. Let’s see if this made the situation any better.

Texture & Fragrance:

Texture of First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is white pearlescent whipped cream which melts in contact with water and foams moderately. The foam is not much as foaming cleanser but better than creamy cleansers.

The facewash is fragrance free and does not smell like anything.

Performance:

I use it morning and night. In morning I use it as my only cleanser and it takes off all the oily residue from night routine and cleans the face without stripping the moisture.

I double cleanse at night on days I wear makeup and i used this cleanser as second cleanse after my makeup remover/balm. On other days I use it as my only cleanse. It takes off all oil, grim, dirt off the face and even removes light makeup such as blush, bronzer or compact. However it is not capable of removing all makeup such as foundation/mascara etc. I would recommend to do double cleanse anyways if you wear makeup. As second cleanse I needed to use extra quantity of this cleanser or sometimes go over twice in order to clean everything properly.

It did not sting or burn on the irritated red flaky skin around my mouth. Within 1 week i noticed that it helped subsiding the irritation and dryness. I was using it along with the moisturizer with same range. On its own it was not very effective to calm down the redness and flakyness that effectively which is justified as you wash it off so it does not remain in contact with skin for a long time.

Final Verdict: 4.5/5

First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is ph balanced formula suitable for sensitive skin and is fragrance, paraben and sulphate free. It definitely did not worsen the irritation and flakyness and did not sting or burn skin. It cleaned skin very well without stripping it dry and did help reducing skin reactivity and flareups. The claims of removing makeup are not true. Also I’m not sure how effective anti-oxidents blend is since it is wash-off formula. I do feel the price is a bit higher specially if someone wants to use it as regular cleanser.

First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is an option when no cleanser is working for you skin. Also if you can not tolerate fragrance, sulphates and parabens. However do a patch test and check ingredients to be sure you are not sensitive to any ingredient. It does help with reducing skin recativity and flareups. However this is not a must have. Also this is not as effective on oily skin.

That is all about First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser. Have you used it? Share your thoughts in comment section below.

Till next time…take care…xoxo.
