Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel Review

I hope your week is going great so far. I have caught cold and cough in changing weather so really having a tough time for past 2 days. Today I’m going to review Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel, the very much raved about product in acne treatment world.

I picked it up on my visit to medical shop when i relocated to Gurgaon and my skin was trying to get used to the weather here. But before i begin let me tell you a little about my skin again. My skin is combination with occasional breakouts and a little bit pores on my cheeks.

Read on to know if it had won my heart or not…

Little about Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel:

Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Gel for clear skin with Salicylic Acid + Totarol + Eperuline. Purifies without drying and gently eliminates impurities. Immediately soothes skin.

• With aloe and vitamin E
• Cleanses and unblocks pores deep down and immediately soothes skin
• Normaderm deep cleansing gel eliminates impurities and excess oil.

And as you can see on bottle it is parabean/soap/alcohol free.

Price & shelf-life:

490/- INR for 100ml and 940/- INR for 200ml. Shelf-life of 12 months after opening.

Ingredients and instructions to use:

Packaging:

packaging of 100ml facewash is translucent bright green tube with white flip-open cap while 200 ml version is translucent bright green colored bottle with white twist lock pump dispenser. The translucent packaging makes it easy to see how much product is left. Both the packagings are travel friendly but if you want to carry facewash in your handbag everyday then definitely 100ml tube is more travel-friendly. Bright green color packaging makes it soothing on the eyes.

Overall thumbs up for the packaging.

Texture & Consistency:

Texture is gel and consistency is on a bit runnier side so pump dispenser makes it more convenient to use. one pump is enough to wash face.

Performance of Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel:

Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel lathers pretty well and one pump( or 50 paisa coin size) of product is enough to wash the face. It cleanses the skin really well removing all the excessive oil, sebum, dirt and makeup from the face. If you have excessive oily skin you are gonna love the after effects but if you have dry skin then i would suggest either heavily moisturize post facewashing or skip it alltogether.

It controls oil for good 8-9 hours on my combination skin so oily skinned ladies will be impressed with it. It contains salicylic acid so it does have mild exfoliation properties therefore I could not use it for 1 month straight twice a day as my skin is very sensitive, so i used to use this only at night time and it used to remove all the grim off my face. I use oil to clean my eyemakeup and it successfully removed all the leftover oil from my face effectively.

It won’t stop your upcoming breakouts for skin with major acne troubles but sure it soothes the existing ones and reducing the size of it. As it is parabean and alcohol free therefore it doesn’t aggravate  existing acne. But this is not a must have for acne-prone skin.

While using this my skin felt clean and smooth and my pores felt clean and minimised.

What i like about Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel:

• Cleanse skin really well by taking all the grim, dirt, makeup and oil from face.
• travel-friendly packaging.
• Soothes irritated acne and skin.
• Pores are clearer and skin is smoother.
• lathers pretty well.
• Easily available at medical shops and online.
• milder than other acne treatment.
• parabean free, alcohol free and soap free.
• pump dispenser is convenient 🙂

What i don’t like about Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel:

• Expensive.
• Nothing extraordinary.
• Contains SLS(which can irritate skin if you have severe acne).

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This is nothing extraordinary for acne treatment. For the price tag it comes with I’m not impressed with the performance. I would not repurchase it and i recommend this to oily/combination skinned beauties but I will suggest to try their sample size first before buying fullsize. For ladies with severe acne conditions i would suggest a trial pack as SLS can irritate acne in some cases.

So this is my opinion about Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel. I have seen and read so many ladies swearing by it and raving about it but somehow it just didn’t click me.
