Trend Alert : Chalk your Hair

When I have recently gone to salon for hair highlights for first time ever in my life (yeah I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time but I guess everything has its time :P), while doing the payment something colourful on the reception desk counter have caught my eyes.. I’ve immediately picked it up to see what it is.. It has said “L’oreal Hair chalk”..  As soon as I have reached home, I have googled it and there are several sites raving about it.

So let’s see: what exactly is hair chalk? And why is everyone raving about it?

Here is what brand’s marketing director at L’Oréal Professional and Essie, Ségolène de Noray, has to say about this product: “This product Allows us to go toward younger women, women who love changes, who aren’t necessarily [attracted to coloring].”

So what’s it all about? Where traditional methods involve products that genuinely are chalk-sticks (just like crayons) used by girls on the street who couldn’t/wouldn’t afford anything fancier, L’Oreal’s Hairchalk (retails at around £20) is a liquid water based ink+micro-fiber polymer creates an ultra thin film of color to you hair strands which washes out in 2-10 washes – just apt for those who wanna change their hair color may be every month :). Rita Ora, Lady Gaga, Salena Gomez ,Nicky Minaj and many more celebrities have already done it, as have the beauty pros of Chanel and Marc Jacobs’ runways.

There are many types of hair chalks are available in the market. I have attached the pictures of a few types:

You can create many innovative hairstyles or spice up your all time classic hair-do with a pinch of color(or multiple colors). Run your imagination wild and experiment. I have found some really cool and playful also some elegant and classy hairdos with the new hair chalk twist. Look at the pictures for more. You can also use it on your already colored hair..what more you can ask for? 🙂
