Enjoy a warming sensation when massaging daily onto dry face, rinse off with water to see the gel texture transform into a light cleansing milk. Use with OOL routine, as a first step. In case of direct contact with eyes, rinse immediately.

My Experience with The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Cleansing Oil-In-Gel:

There are few products whoch are hit or miss with many people. People who love it, love it to core and people who don’t love it, you can’t make them love it. The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Cleansing Oil-In-Gel is one of such products. I have combination skin which tends to get dry to combination in winters and combination to oily in summers.

Packaging:

The Body Shop Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Cleansing Oil-In-Gel comes in a plasti tube with same warm golden amber ombre packing like rest of the range. Packaging is travel friendly and leak-proof.

Texture & Fragrance:

Texture of TBS oils of life oil-in-gel cleanser is thick sticky gel like. It is quite thick and not easy to spread at all specially in winters which is the time i would actually want to use this because my skin is drier and gets dry patches that time. It is like sugar wax.

Fragrance is Ayurvedic spa like and is super strong. Sensitive nose is gonna not like it at all. I can still bear it in winters but i find it overpowering in warmer months.

Performance:

Now as per instructions, you are supposed to massage it on dry face then add a little water to emulsify it and then wash it off. Here is the issue with this, the texture is so thick and sticky that it feels uncomfortable massaging it on dry face. And then when i add little water to emulsify it, it gets a bit better and massageable. When i wash it off with water completely, it leaves an oily residue behind and i can feel it on my face. It gives similar feeling like i feel after a cleansing balm/cleansing milk. I feel like doing double cleanse. Even when I pat-dry my face with towel, i do not get the clean face feeling.

I am okay with double cleanse but can this replace my cleansing balms? answer is NO It can take off light makeup but if you wear waterproof makeup, this is not going to take it off. This can not take-off my kohl and mascara completely. So now what is really left? I used it as my morning cleanser when i have no makeup on. I still did not like the after wash feeling.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Cleansing Oil-In-Gel is a tricky product. If you are someone who are comfortable with cleaning face with cleansing balm or cleansing milk and then water, you will like it. If you are someone who does double cleanse or in simple words who use a foaming cleanser after cleansing milk or cleansing balm, then you are not gonna like it. I do not like it for several reasons:

1. quantity required is more as compare to other dry skin friendly cleansers like TBS Vit-E cleanser.
2. It is sticky and thick(Thicker in winters) and hence feels uncomfortable on massaging on dry skin.
3. It can not take-off all makeup so it can not replace your cleansing balm/makeup remover.
4. I do not like the oily residue on skin after wash.
5. The smell is overpowering. sugar and fragrance is quite up in the ingredient list.
6. It did not do anything special for my winter dry skin which vit-e cleanser did not.

Honestly this is not my cup of tea, I would stick to TBS vit-e cleanser. If you like it and it works for you, that is really good. If you have some tips to how to use it up please share in comment section below.
