My Experience with The Body Shop Carrot Cream:
I love the good thought behind this range and it makes me feel good about using it. Carrots are rich in vitamin A and C and are said to give revive and boost dull and tired skin. let’s see if the product does what it claims to do. the facewash from the range fullfilled the claims, let’s see if the moisturizer also lives upto the expectation.
Packaging:
The Body Shop Carrot cream also comes in a lime green tube with carrot colored screw open cap similar to facewash from the same range. The packaging looks aesthetically pleasing to me and is 100% recyclable which i really like. Only thing i do not like about the packaging is screw open cap as product gets collected in cap and around screw neck frequently. I prefer flip open screw cap which is more convenient to use and product does not get deposited around opening as much.
Texture & consistency:
This peachy colored cream has moderate cream consistency which spreads easily onto skin and gets absorbed quickly leaving healthy glow. It has citrusy smell with hint of mint which gives a refreshing feeling.
Performance:
The body shop carrot cream is not exactly light-weight and it feels creamy creamy if you understand what I mean. You need to be very careful not to overuse it as it can feel heavy on skin in that case. Pea-size is enough for face and neck. I have used this cream day and night in fall and winter. For fall when the weather is still warm and slowly moving to colder nights, I felt during the day time this moisturizer made my oily zone come out in 3-4 hours, whereas when used in night, I woke up with moisturized and plumper skin next day. I felt it even broke down my foundation.
In winters during the day time I felt it was enough to provide moisture and take care of dry patches but I felt it was not moisturizing enough for night. Even in extreme winters it was not enough on it’s own, I had to use facial oil underneath.
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
The body shop carrot cream claims 72hr moisture which is a boastful claim and certainly it doesn’t fulfill it. This is an good moisturizer for dry skin all year round, and in winters for normal to combination skin. Extremely dry skinned people and oily skinned people can skip this one. This does not have an spf so you need to wear additional sun-protection o keep that in mind too. I have seen other creams performing better for cheaper price tag. I don’t think it is absolutely necessary to try.
