There was a time when liquid lipsticks were super duper popular and then the storm calmed down. Still maybelline released Matte ink range about 4 years back and it’s formula was inconsistent among different shades. And formula of some of the shades reminded me of Maybelline superstay range and Rimmel London Provocalips 16 Hr Kiss Proof Lip Colour. And to my surprise I have not reviewed these here. So let’s talk about Rimmel Provocalips lipsticks today.

My Experience with Rimmel London Provocalips 16 Hr Kiss Proof Lip Colour:
I have 2 shades from the range 200 I’ll call you and 730 make your move. Let’s dive into details.
Packaging:
Rimmel provocalips lipstick is encased in a double-ended tube, one end containing the color and the other housing the lock and shine topcoat. The packaging is sturdy and sleek, making it quite portable and ideal for on-the-go touch-ups.
Formula & Pigmentation:
Upon initial application, the Provocalips Lipstick base color has a thick creamy consistency, making it easy to apply. Once dry, however, it becomes slightly sticky. This stickiness is very uncomfortable in some shades but it’s effectively countered by the topcoat, which adds a layer of shine and locks in the color while providing a boost of hydration and your lips feel better again.
Pigmentation is also great and opaque in single swipe.
Performance:
Like I mentioned you have to first apply base colour and then top it off with gloss. These lipsticks dry very quickly and once set, become immovable so be precise and be quick. Also make sure not to apply thick layer because thicker the layer, stickier it dries. Once you top if off with gloss side, stickyness goes away. The gloss wears off with nips and sips but even after gloss wears off, lipstick does not get sticky again. However after a full blown meal lipstick starts to wear off from center of the lips and also it becomes really difficult to reapply because it does not come-off completely.
I have made sure to apply thinnest layer possible, that is the only way i could reapply the lipstick. Do not try to remove it without oil-based makeup remover otherwise you’ll end up hurting your lips. Remove these with a good oil based cleanser or balms. The overall experience is just too frustrating.

If you want a lipstick that just locks into place until you remove it, Maybelline super stay matte ink liquid lipsticks are your best bet. Rimmel London Provocalips 16 Hr Kiss Proof Lip Colour are just mediocre. I do not like glossy finish and these are unbearably sticky without the gloss topper. overall not the best ones i tried. Although the gloss in these are my favorite part. Gloss is mon-sticky and hydrating. because of the performance and formula i rarely reach for them. Not my favorite and not recommended by me.
