Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown Review, Swatch and EOTD

Heylo Ladies,

How was your weekend? Mine was good. I have recently joined gym again after a good 2.5 months break so it is definitely leaving my body sore. Anyways today I’m going to review Lakme eyeconic kajal in shade brown.

As you all know by now(if you have been visiting here for sometime now) that I am crazy for eyeliners and kohl’s (take a sneak-peak of my collection here) so I pickup atleast one almost every shopping trip 😀 I love colored eyeliners and kajals and apply them on my waterline as well.  Though all colored liners are not waterline-friendly so whenever i spot one I bag it immediately.

Lakme eyeconic black is my favorite budget kajal(what I have not reviewed it yet :o) so when Lakme came with other shades brown, grey, blue and green in eyeconic range then i had to have them all 😀 So Read on to know that do I love Lakme eyeconic kajal brown as much as I love black one.

Packaging:

All Eyeconic kajals come in similar turquoise-black packaging except the white one. The kajal comes in turquoise and black colored card packaging with black and white font used to write product name informtion and a few tips on how to use, how to enhance the look and how to remove (How cool is that 🙂 )

Lakme eyeconic Brown Review

Inside the card packaging there is a black retractable pencil with turquoise band at one end. Shade name is written on this turquoise band. Except white all the shades have same colored pencil case packaging so you will have to read the shade names to use if you have more than one 🙂 I like retractable pencils to carry along as they are easy to use and you can carry it in your wallet ( I do 😀 )

The tip is pointed but once you start using it, it gets blunt so drawing a thin line can be an issue if you don’t have sharpener for retractable pencils.

Overall I am ok with the packaging.

Shade & Texture:

Shade of Lakme eyeconic kajal brown is beautiful chocolaty brown with matte finish which will show up on most of the skin tones. Mostly browns doesn’t show up much on my waterline/lids but this is beautiful brown which actually accentuate the eyes beautifully. the color won’t look blackish on any skin type. This is the first brown kajal/liner I’ve ever liked.

Here is how the color looks in sunlight and natural light(I’m not wearing any makeup just Lakme eyeconic kajal brown):

Texture of Lakme eyeconic kajal brown is soft and creamy. It glides easily on lids without any tugging or pulling.

Performance of Lakme eyeconic kajal brown:

Pigmentation:

Pigmentation of Lakme eyeconic kajal brown is great and one swipe deposits the actual color on lids with full intensity, though on waterline you might need to go over a couple of swipes if you like dark kohled eyes like me.

Staying power:

Lakme eyeconic kajal brown sets within 1 min after you apply itso you have to be quick if you want to smudge it. Once set it doesn’t transfer on lids. It doesn’t smudge for good 9-10 hours on lids and about 7 hours on waterline (Pretty impressive 🙂 ) It is waterprooof, I have washed my face with it and it didn’t budge from the eyes. you need to remove it with makeup remover or oil otherwise it doesn’t come-off your eyes completely even if you wash your face with facewash. So I like the performance of Lakme eyeconic kajal brown.

What I like about Lakme eyeconic kajal brown:

  • Affordability(you can get it at 200/- INR at mostly online sites) and availability.
  • Retractable pencil is fuss free and travel friendly.(No need to carry sharpener).
  • Beautiful chocolaty brown (I am so in love with this color).
  • Stays upto 9-10 hrs on lids and 7 hrs on waterline so 10hr claim is almost true.
  • Doesn’t smudge.
  • Waterproof.
  • Glides easily and doesn’t transfer on lids.
  • Safe to use on waterline. (Even on sensitive eyes like me).
  • Very well pigmented.
  • Matte finish.
  • Cheapest colored liner.

What I don’t like about Lakme eyeconic kajal brown:

  • Dusky beauties will have to conceal better for the color to show up.
  • I have all the shades from the range so spotting one is a bit tough task.

Final Verdict: 4.8/5

It is a beautiful matte brown. It is perfect for office wear as well as for regular usage. If you find black kajal too stark for you then this is definitely must try for you. It is totally worth the money. I sometimes use it to fill my brows as well. I love it and already repurchased it. I totally recommend this to you girlies. 🙂

And here is one FOTD with Lakme eyeconic kajal brown:(Oh i love this so much on me that i clicked so many pics 😉 )
