I am not a fan of lipglosses because most of them are sticky or disappear very fast from my lips. So when i saw Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipgloss, i thought these would be interesting to try. There was 50% off so I picked 5 shades 😀
Price, Quantity & Buy:
€2.30 for 5ml. Available at Kruidvat, Etos and drugstores.
My Experience with Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipgloss:
I have 5 shades from the range: 02 Beauty Approved, 06 It’s a 10, 07 Chip Up Your Life, 08 The Big Chill, 11 Drama Club.
Packaging:
Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipglosses come in transparent plastic tube with long wand sponge applicator. The packaging is okayish, not a big fan of the applicator. After sometime shade names gets rubbed off of packaging which is also a shame.
Formula & Pigmentation:
The formula of Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipgloss is mousse like which applies opaque in one swipe and you need 2-3 swipes for even coverage for very light and very deep shades.
The formula is very comfortable to wear. Some shades tends to emphasize the chapped lips. Also after sometime formula thickens and then application becomes little patchy for a few shades and takes lot of effort to get even-out application. These smell like super sweet cake and you can taste sweetness too 😀
Performance:
The product never really dries to a complete matte finish on its own like you would expect given the 3 matt’s in the name 😀 but there is lipgloss also in the name. So these are basically non-glossy mousse like lipglosses which are non-sticky and opaque in intensity.
Though the formula is moussey and creamy, it never bleeds out of lips. These do transfer but still survive nips and sips for about 3 hours. If you want you can mattify these by blotting it with tissue which is how I like to use these. I blot 2 layers and then top it off again with one layer, this way the staying power is increased.
Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipgloss Swatches:
Final verdict: 3.75/5
Essence Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipglosses are for you if you are looking for a non-sticky, non-glossy pigmented matte lip gloss. These have moussey comfortable formula and staying power is also good for a lipgloss. However these are overly sweet and the applicator is not the best specially for thin lips. And after a while product formula gets thicker and few shades get patchy to apply and takes a lot of effort for an even application.the trick is to use less product on applicator. Other than that good product. I used them a lot and satisfied given the price point.
