e.l.f Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Black Review and EOTD

Hola Everyone,

I hope you are doing good.. I’m in my native town and I’m totally indulging in mom-made food…so yummmm!!! 😛 Ok I might be sounding crazy to you but trust me people who live alone out of their home definitely miss food made by mom.. 😀

Now you know the reason why I couldn’t post for past few days. I’ve been busy in packing and travelling. So I’ve decided to do this post.

Today’s review is of e.l.f waterproof eyeliner pen in black which I’ve purchased on my iHerb haul(see here).

Since I love eyeliners, it was obviously the first product I have used from the haul (Yeah I took my own time to ogle at packed RT brush and I wasn’t feeling like opening it :P)
So I’ve used this eyeliner pen a few times and I think I’m ready to share my review on it.

Read on to know my views on it..

My Experience with e.l.f Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Black:

Packaging:

The packaging is black colored plastic bodied pen which has unique shape and not like typical pen shape. I really like this packaging as it’s fun 😛 and different. It has silver font on it with which the product name and details are written on the body.

I really like felt-tip liners as they make eyeliner application easy and hassle-free and they are super helpful if you want to apply winged eyeliner.

Shade and felt-tip:

The shade is jet black with matte finish and felt-tip is really soft yet sturdy enough for proper application. I absolutely love this shade it looks beautiful on eyes 🙂

Pigmentation:

Pigmentation of the liner is good for a felt-tip liner. It does not give opaque finish in one swipe but in 2 swipes finish is opaque. The liner dries up very fast on your eyes so layering up it is not a pain 🙂 I absolutely love the pigmentation.

Staying Power & Performance:

Staying power of the liner is good and it doesn’t transfer on lids BUT(yeah there is a big BUT in it 🙁 ) as soon as it comes in contact with water or sweat, it gives Racoon eyes 🙁 It totally fails the waterproof claim. It is not waterproof at all 🙁

I usually do to gym right after office and I don’t wash my kohl or liner before that so it gave me black eye look in the gym the day I wore it 🙁

What I like:

  • Jet Black matte finish.
  • Very good felt tip helps in winged eyeliner look.
  • Doesn’t take much time to dry.
  • Value for the money.
  • Doesn’t sting my sensitive eyes. I’ve used it on my upper and lower lashline.
  • Dirt cheap price.
  • glides easily, doesn’t tug or pull the eyes.
  • Doesn’t flake.

What I don’t like:

  • Not waterproof or sweat-proof at all.
  • Gives racoon eyes in contact with sweat or water.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

I adore this color but I like my eyeliner either water-proof or if it’s not water-proof then also it should not give racoon eyes. It is very big turn-off for me. I’m crazy for liners and have used so many variants of each category but definitely this doesn’t qualify my must-keep-in-bag list.

On the other hand I love the color pay-off and pigmentation. For the money it is priced at, it is a fantastic deal. I will use it when I’m going out for a short time and I want a winged eyeliner look.

And here is EOTD using e.l.f Waterproof eyeliner pen.
