2020 hasn’t been the best year for travel. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic have resulted in all sorts of travel restrictions being put in place around the world and many people are wary about traveling in case they catch the virus while they’re away. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to shove any travel plans to the back of your mind. Instead, why not make good use of this travel free period of your life and take some time to plan where you’d like to go when life returns to normal and we’re able to hop on flights and cross borders more easily? Now really is a great time to start coming up with a travel bucket list! Here are some steps to help you along the way!
Do Your Research
First, you need to do your research. This will help to give you an idea of where you’d really like to go. You can find places you’d love to visit in a number of ways. Start asking for recommendations from family and friends. These people know you well, so are likely to have a good idea of your interests and preferences and could let you know where they’ve been that you might like too. Next, search online. Browse Pinterest boards, blogs, travel vlogs and use other free resources to expose yourself to areas of the world you might not have considered visiting. The key to success in this stage is to have a good idea of what you like and to search accordingly. It’s definitely worth the time and effort. You never know, you may even find a place you like so much that you’d consider applying for indefinite leave to remain!
Write What You’d Like to Do In Each Place
It’s all good and well knowing the countries or cities you’d like to visit. But what do you want to do when you get there? Are there sites or attractions you’d like to see and visit? Are there any foods you’d like to try? And are there any days out you’d like to fit in? Write these down too. The more detail your list has, the better!
Create a Travel Route
Some people are holiday types. They like to travel to one destination, then return home to the comforts of their own living space and familiar surroundings. But if you have a stronger case of wanderlust, you may find that you want to spend a long time travelling, hopping between countries and cities that you’ve added to your bucket list. If this is the case, it’s time to start planning a route too! Planning a route that takes you from one city to a nearby city to a nearby city and so on will save you a lot more in travel than you’d be likely to spend if you visited places you wanted to go in no particular order.
To help make your travels a little easier, consider dropping off your luggage at lockers such as lockers Milano Centrale. For those occasions where you’re unable to check into your accommodation, you’ll be able to drop off your luggage so that the rest of your day can be spent exploring without dragging a lot of weight around with you.
These are just the starting steps to actualising your journeys in your bucket list. But we all have to start somewhere and there’s no better time to spend a while planning. Hopefully, the above steps will help you to find your way!
Till next time…take care…xoxo.
