The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter Review

Heya Everyone,

How was your weekend? I am still setting my stuff in my newly rented house(with hubby dear) so my weekend went there and I was not able to post anything here.. Meanwhile I have finally planned few upcoming reviews(yayyy very optimistic of me šŸ˜› ) so that I will just have to upload and post whenever I can squeeze time. So that was my weekend.

Coming to the review of the day, The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter. The first product I have tried from The Body Shop(TBS) was their Moringa shower gel because I use to feel that the brand is costly(atleast in India) but when I used the product I could feel that they are totally worth the price even the quantity also, and that made me hooked to the brand, plus they have 50% sale every season(if you are a member then preview sale too) so I stock up my favorites that time šŸ˜€ I am a big fan of citrusy fragrances so the moment I have spotted the Satsuma box on 50% sale, I picked it up without a second thought. Here is what all was there in the box..

The Body Shop Satsuma Box All in OneThe Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter was the part of the box. Except my face rest of my skin is normal so I use body butters only in winters because that time skin feel dry and stretchy and for rest of the seasons I pick body lotions. Read on to know what I like about The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter.

Packaging:

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter comes in a tub packaging, some might find it little unhygienic but cum’mon what you kinda packaging you expect from a body butter. Body butters are thick in consistency so obviously they can not come in a pump bottle šŸ˜€ So I am happy with the packaging as I apply the body butter post bath and that time my hands are obviously clean and the packaging gives me ease of access to product as I’m always in a hurry in the morning.

Texture & Consistency:

The word body butter itself gives a feeling of something smooth and greasy, yeah The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter is smooth in texture but not at all greasy. It glides like a dream on your skin especially on damp skin just after a bath.

Performance of The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter:

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter smells of fresh oranges and this is what I like about it the most. It gives a refreshing feeling and awakens your senses (oh yeah I am gaga over its scent :P)Ā  The fragrance is not very strong yet not very subtle and It lingers for hours and almost all day if you use shower gel/soap from same range and fetches you quite a lot if compliments :B

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter Swatch

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter sinks right into skin as soon as you apply it and gives a moisturized and supple healthy skin, nothing greasy at all. I have immediately hold onto few matte black cases to see if it leaves any greasy prints and impressively no greasy residue at all.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter Swatch Blended

I apply this body butter only once a day just after the morning shower and I don’t feel any need to reapply it at all so 24 hr moisturizing claim is true for me(though I can’t comment about very dry skin). Moisturized supple healthy skin glow all day šŸ™‚ Oh yeah and I apply it all over the body yet very less amount is required and the tub will last me good 4-5 months I guess.

What I Like about The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter:

  • 24 hr moisturizing claim is true for me(to my normal dry skin in winters).
  • Amazing scent of fresh oranges.
  • Fragrance lasts for good amount of time.
  • Very less quantity is required for whole body. Tub lasts me good 4-5 months.
  • Value for money.
  • Doesn’t leave any greasy feeling on skin.
  • Glides on skin very easily.

What I don’t like about The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter:

  • Pricey (though If purchased in sale It is a real-steal deal).
  • No Ingredient list.

Final Verdict: 5/5

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter gets 5/5 from me. I love love love it a lot. Girls keep an eye for The Body Shop sale (even there is sale running at TBS at this time also) so run to nearest TBS store or check out their online website here and stock up your favorite TBS products(I surely am :P).

So this was my take(rather say raving) about The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter.

And I always stock up in the sales, too!
Good luck with your new home, decorating a new place is great!

  2. As always, I love your review, babe!! And that will indeed make such a perfect gift! šŸ™‚ I am not a fan of the scent of this range, but it sure is moisturising šŸ™‚

  3. I have TBC’s orange sugar body scrub and body butter, I must say that TBC is a great dupe for TBS products.. šŸ˜› you should try them too šŸ™‚

  5. Thanks for coming over to my space. And I am glad to do the same. Love the things you share because I like reading about beauty stuffs. Currently I am using the some body shop products – olive oil shower gel and the body butter too but of different scent. I will certainly try satsuma range when I need to replenish my stocks. Over here, Body shop is not that expensive compared to other brands.

    1. TBS is not costly there, you are a lucky girl..i love their products and find the high price a constraint here.. You should give satsuma a try, you’ll love it šŸ™‚

  6. Like I mentioned before Anu, I absolutely lovee your review, and I lovee this range. The smell’s amazing..citrus-ish, (though I am personally a cocoa butter kind of smell -person), but love it for its moisturising qualities šŸ™‚

  7. Thank you for such a wonderful article dear and from my side I want to say that i am using shea butter body moisturizer from long and its really effective. This comforting body butter delivers long-lasting hydration while rejuvenating dry, rough skin. Certified organic Shea Butter, Honey, Mafura and Baobab are blended into a rich formulation of restorative oils to deeply moisturize, while boosting skin’s moisture barrier against environmental irritants. African Rock Fig helps smooth and restore softness to skin.
